The Curriculum

Introduction

This gives a gentle introduction to the course and uses some fun characters to engage your child and make learning fun! They also get the chance to try out a practice assessment to familiarise themselves with the layout.

Recognisning patterns

Here the algebra begins. Your child will learn about linear and non-linear sequences how they are generated and how to spot the difference. The module finishes with term-to-term rules.

The language of algebra

The language of algebra and an introduction to function-machines in this module paves the way for the algebra to follow. Your child will learn how to substitute into formulae and see how graphs can be used to represent patterns in number.

Formal algebra

Building on the previous modules, your child will learn how to solve one and two-step equations and to understand the how to collect 'like' terms and know when terms are 'unlike'.

Conclusion

The course ends with a summary assessment to give your child the opportunity to demonstrate what they have learned. At any point in the course your child can recap and revisit earlier lessons.

"Having previously spent money on maths tuition, I found this course to be amazing value. My child now feels much more confident. It provides an alternative for those for whom maths tuition is out of reach."
